Robot Voice Generator: Scripts and Recordings as Robots
This robot voice generator works two ways. Type a script and a robot voice reads it, or bring your own recording or video. Then pick one of six robot effects, set its strength and pitch while it plays, and download an MP3, a WAV or your video with its picture kept.

What is a robot voice generator?
A robot voice generator makes speech that sounds like a machine. This one does it two ways: a robot voice reads the script you type, or a robot effect reshapes a voice you already have, flattening its pitch, giving it a metallic ring or sending it through a radio. You hear the change as you make it and download the result as audio, or as your video with its picture kept.
How to make a robot voice in three steps
Text or a recording in, a robot out.
Type a script or bring a recording
Write what the robot says and pick a voice (robot voices come first), or drop an audio file or a video, or record one in the studio.
Pick the robot effect
Choose monotone, metallic, retro computer, radio robot, glitch or starship, then set the strength and the robot pitch (the ring, on metallic) while it plays.
Download it
Save an MP3 or a WAV, or your video with its picture kept and only the sound changed.
What this robotic voice generator gives you
Two ways in, six effects to shape by ear, and files ready for a game, a video or a stream.

Text or your own voice, one studio
Type a script and a voice reads it with the voiceover engine, or bring a recording or video you already have. Either way the same robot effect follows, and it runs in your browser at no charge.
Six robot effects
Monotone flattens the voice onto one pitch. Metallic puts it inside a metal tube. Retro computer makes it lo-fi. Radio robot sends it over a two-way radio. Glitch makes it stutter, and starship turns it into a ship’s computer in a big hall.
Robot voices for your scripts
They come first in the voice list: a friendly helper, a starship computer, a guardian robot, a calm AI, a home assistant that speaks Chinese and more. Every voice in the library can read your script too, and the robot effect turns any of them into a machine.
Strength and robot pitch, set by ear
The preview plays through the same code that writes your file, so what you hear is what you download. Raise the strength for a full machine or keep a trace of the person; move the robot pitch to make it a small helper or a giant.
Words that stay clear
We measured it: on four voices in English and Chinese, a transcription model heard at least 97.5% of the words as written under five of the six effects at their default strength, and 91.9% under glitch, which is meant to break up.
Robot voice changer for videos too
Drop an MP4 or MOV and the robot effect replaces its sound while the picture is copied as it is. The length stays exactly the same, so the voice stays in sync with the lips and the cuts.
Robot voice generator samples
Each line was read by a voice on this site, then given the robot effect in the studio and shown as it came out. Switch between the voice and the robot while it plays, and open any of them with its settings.
Robot voice guide: effects, scripts and uses
How a robot voice is made
A human voice moves: its pitch rises and falls, and its tone changes with every sound. A robot voice keeps the words and takes the movement away, or adds something no throat could make.
The vocoder is the classic way. It measures how loud the voice is in each frequency band and lays those levels over a steady buzz, so the words come through on a single flat note. Ring modulation multiplies the voice by a low tone and gives it a hollow metal ring. Lowering the bit depth and the sample rate makes it grainy, like an old computer, and a narrow band with a little hiss sounds like a radio.
Write lines for a machine
Robots speak in short, clipped lines. Lead with the subject and the state: "Door three open." "Battery at forty percent."
- 1Keep each sentence to one idea.
- 2Use status words: online, ready, complete, standing by.
- 3Spell out numbers and times.
- 4Add [pause] where the robot should wait.
Open with a short cue such as "Attention" or "Good morning": it sets the tone of an announcement before the message starts.
Choose your robot
Match the effect to the character. A friendly helper suits monotone with the robot pitch raised; a ship’s computer suits starship with a calm voice; a guardian robot suits metallic with a low ring. Retro computer fits game menus and old terminals, radio robot fits patrols and missions, and glitch fits a machine that is breaking down.
Start from the default strength, listen, then move it. At low strength the person is still there; near full strength the machine takes over.
Your own voice as a robot
Record a line in the studio or drop a file you already have. The robot effect runs in your browser, and the preview changes as you move the controls. Download the result as MP3 or WAV, or keep your video and its picture with the new sound.
Where robot voices go
Robot voices fit anywhere a machine speaks: a game’s menu, a trailer’s first line, a music drop, a story’s talking house. A robot line in an intro sets a sci-fi tone at once.
How clear the words stay
Each effect was measured on four voices, an English man and woman and a Chinese man and woman. Their originals and robot versions went through a transcription model, and we compared the words. Monotone, metallic and radio robot kept 98.7% of the words as written, retro computer 97.5%, starship all of them, and glitch 91.9%, since breaking up the speech is its purpose.
